Qualitative Data Analysis Software Options | Map and Data Library
UofT currently subscribes to the latest few versions of NVivo. Consult our NVivo software license page to request a license key. Consult our getting started guide for NVivo or our for tutorials, resources, and workshop recordings to help you get started using the software. We also provide access to MAXQDA on some of our library computers and have a getting started guide for MAXQDA.
However, there are a number of other alternatives you can also consider; however you will need to purchase your own copy (except for Taguette):
- ATLAS.ti [Note: Lumivero, who makes NVivo, has recently acquired ATLAS.ti]
- Dedoose [Note: You can take Dedoose Workshops at a cost, offered by OISE]
- Delve
- LibreQDA (free, open source) [Note: This is the Canadian version of Taguette with some additional features]
- MAXQDA [Note: MDL is providing the software, free to use, in the Robarts Library 4th floor computer lab.]
- QDA Miner
- QualCoder (free, open source) [Some QualCoder learning resources offered by Temple University Libraries]
- Quirkos
- Taguette (free, open source)
