ArcGIS Online: Information, Tutorials, and Workshops

ArcGIS Online is a web-based, platform-as-a-service geographic information systems (GIS) software developed by Esri. It allows you to build and share interactive web maps and no-code apps.

Logging in with any web browser using your UTORid will enable you to access UofT’s subscription to the service, which is administered by the Map and Data Library.

ArcGIS Online a popular choice for new learners, or as a tool enabling those who don’t have GIS or web development backgrounds to create custom, high quality digital products, such as ArcGIS StoryMaps.

You should be aware, however, that ArcGIS Online is not a permanent archive — inactive accounts and old content may be deleted. Please review our data retention policy to understand how your data is managed and how to preserve important work. Additionally, server resources on the platform are limited. Please review our best practices for data management before undertaking project work in ArcGIS Online.
